wie kann ich php code ausgeben?

Versuche, eine php Abfrage in einer Seite auszugeben, habe es im html Modus mittels versucht, klappt aber nicht. Wie kann ich sowas realisieren? Hat jemand einen Tipp für mich?

habe bereits "phpexec" "exec-php" und "runphp" ausprobiert, ohne Erfolg. Keine Fehlermeldungen aber der Code wurde jeweils ohne die php tags ausgegeben, also ohne < ? php und ? > (ohne Leerzeichen)
