Farbe des Footers ändern

Hallo, ich habe eine Webseite errichtet und nun mein Impressum sowie Datenschutz im Footer gesetzt. Jedoch passt mein Footer design nicht zum Gesamtbild der Seite.
Ich möchte die Farbe ändern und würde mich gerne hier aufklären. Welche Datei muss ich hier umschreiben ?
Direkt im Footer oder CSS ? Und ja welche ?
