Theme Meeta, Schriftfarbe + Zentrierung im Logo funktioniert einfach nicht

Hallo,

ich bin absoluter Anfänger in WP und brauch für die einfachsten Sachen diverse Stunden :) Trotzdem kämpfe ich mich da irgendwie durch aber im Moment komme ich absolut nicht weiter. Installiert ist das Theme Meeta -WPZOOM

Ich versuche krampfhaft überhalb des Logos
1. den Hover Effekt auszuschalten
2. Die Schrift schwarz zu bekommen (und das soll sie auch bleiben wenn man mit der Maus drüber fährt)
3. Das Menü zu zentrieren

Ich habe nun schon über 30 Minuten in der Style.css sämtliche Farbcodes mit dem HTML Code für Schwarz ausgestattet aber das Menü ändert sich einfach nicht. Die Hintergrundfarbe konnte ich ohne Probleme ändern.

Das Menü bekomme ich nur auf left oder right. Gebe ich Center ein, bekommt das Top Menü unten und oben einen kleinen weißen Rand und die Schrift zentriert sich nicht.
Ich habe auch versucht über das WP Interface direkt die Farbe zu ändern. Auch da ohne Erfolg. überall was möglich war, schwarz eingestellt aber nichts ändert sich.

Rest habe ich rausgenommen wg. Begrenzung vom Post. Da kommt aber glaube ich auch nichts relevantes mehr.
