Performance Vergleich WebSpace-Hoster (Benchmark)

Dazu habe ich mir das Plugin "PHP/MySQL CPU performance statistics" installiert und auf mehreren WebSpaces, die ich habe oder als test habe, installiert.     Ich würde hier noch ein paar weitere Benchmarks von 1und1, Strato und HostEurope reinsetzen.

    Zu meinen generellen Fragen bzgl. der Anwendbarkeit: Ok, dass die Dauer einer Query ein wichtiger Faktor ist, ist nachvollziehen. Dass die dann folgenden MySQL-Tests die prinzipielle Performance (oder aber die Performance des Zusammenspiels WebServer-Host und MySQL-Server) testen, ist klar. Aber sind das für Wordpress relevante Werte?
    Ich würde eher auf die Queries tippen, diese Benchmark-Dinger berücksichtigen vielleicht auch in großem Maße die Rechenperformance des Webserver-Hosts. Ich entnehme das meinen tests, denn während die PHP-Werte und die der 3 MySQl-Tests ziemlich in eine Richtung gehen, gibt es beim Query-Test schon Unterschiede.

    Meinungen und weitere tests bitte gerne hier hinter hängen.

    Also ich möchte hier mal Zweifel bezüglich des angezeigten PHP-Memory-Limits bei 1&1 uns Strato anmelden.

    Nach meiner Erfahrung gibt es bei diesen beiden Anbietern keine 256M.

    Ausnahme ist das neue "Unlimited Plus (4GB)" Paket bei 1&1, wo man tatsächlich knapp 256M hat. Hier gibts entsprechende Infos zu den 1&1-Paketen.

    Und bei Strato gibts bestefalls 104M nach meinem Wissenstand (siehe auch Strato-FAQ).

    Sich ist das PHP memory limit wichtig, aber hier wollte ich was zur performance wissen. Und da scheint es, als wenn alle irgendwie gleich gut/schlecht wären. Auch relativ unabhängig von der Paketgröße. Das "Unlimited Plus" bringt mehr Spreicher, aber erst mal nicht mehr Grundperformance. Ebenso bei Strato.

    Mein Test

    Wusste gar nicht dass es ein solches Plugin gibt, was diese Werte ermittelt. Nun war ich natürlich auch mal neugierig und habe meinen Lieblingshoster wp-webhosting.de gleich mal unter die Lupe genommen. Gebucht habe ich dort einen Tarif mit 256 MB php-Memory-Limit und 35 Kunden pro Server. Ich kopiere diese Werte einfach mal hier rein:

    Danke zunächst für das Feedback und die Einschätzung, da ich mich mit der Technik und den Werten nicht so gut auskenne. Ich habe mich bewusst für diesen Tarif entschieden, ich war schon einmal vor Jahren mit einigen anderen Projekten bei einem sog. "Billig-Hoster" und sage da ganz Klar: Nie wieder! Ich könnte ein Buch schreiben, was ich da alles durch machen musste. Die Seiten waren stundenlang nicht erreichbar und wenn war die Ladezeit ein grauen. Der Support hat erst nach Tagen geantwortet, bei der Kündigung sogar erst nach über einer Woche. Unsere Sekretärin ist fast "durchgedreht", weil der Mailserver nur sporadisch funktionierte, somit konnten wichtige Kundenmails nicht beantwortet werden. Ich denke die 4,95€ für 15 GB und 35 Kunden pro Server sind für die meiner Meinung nach gute Qualität gerechtfertigt. Der Vorherige Hoster war übrigens "Server-Drome", da hat der billige Preis gelockt.

    Kann aber eigentlich auch nur ein "Billig" Paket sein. Für 5,-EU im Monat kann man nichts vernünftiges erwarten. Wenn ich mal rechne, 4,95 x 35 = 170,-EU. Dafür muss ein Server finanziert werden und auch gewartet/administriert werden. Sorry, das geht nicht.

    was mich einmal interessieren würde: wie machen das dann die billig hoster, wo man nur 50 cent pro monat für 2 GB zahlt? mehr kunden auf einem Server würden sicherlich mehr gewinn einbringen, aber ich denke die leistung wird dann nicht besser, sondern eher schlechter.

    Äh,
    ich glaube, das ist ein Missverständnis.
    Der genannte vServer mit 256MB PHP und 35 prohjekten liegt bei 59,40 € pro Monat. Die inzelnen Projekte werden nicht einzeln abgerechnet.

    Das ist ganz unterschiedlich. Meistens werden 500 Kunden oder mehr auf eine Maschine gelegt. Darunter leidet die Performance natürlich gewaltig. Andere setzten keine "echte" Serverhardware ein, sondern Consumer Hardware, welche natürlich billiger ist.
