    Ergänzend zu Monikas Tipp;

    Sind die Dateien im Uploads Ordner vorhanden? Falls ja, schau mal per FTP auf deinem Webspace im uploads Ordner , wie die Dateizugriffsrechte (chmod) der hoch geladenen Bild Dateien gesetzt sind.
    Wenn diese nicht auf 644 stehen setze die mal bei einem Bild auf 644 und versuche nochmal die Mediathek aufzurufen.
    Wird das Bild dann angezeigt lag es am Dateizugriffsrecht und du musst die alle anpassen.

    Wenn das nichts bringt musst du mal schauen, wie die Benutzer/Besitzer ID aussehen.
    Zumindest bei Filezilla gibt es eine entsprechende Spalte in der Anzeige.
    Sind diese IDs unterschiedlich könnte es sein, das WordPress und der FTP Nutzer nicht zur selben Gruppe gehören, was auch zu Problemen führen kann.
